The Talker: 5 things on our radar today

Today’s game starts at 2:30; stay with TBO for live in-game updates. More 3. Remembering a fallen officer: It was one year ago today that Tarpon Springs police Officer Charles Kondek was killed in the line of duty. Today at 5:30 p.m., he will be honored during a memorial at the Public Safety Memorial Garden, 444 S. Huey Ave. The public is invited to the wreath presentation and candlelight vigil; stay with TBO.com for updates. More 4. No playoffs this year: For some it may have been a foregone conclusion, but Sunday’s games officially put an end to the Bucs’ fledgling playoff hopes. The Bucs (6-8) officially were eliminated from the NFC postseason race after the Vikings beat the Bears and the Seahawks defeated the Browns, meaning Tampa Bay will go eight straight seasons without a playoff berth. In spite of the continued drought, did the Bucs show enough this year to give fans hope that their fortunes will change next year? More 5. So much for winter: At least for the rest of this week. After a nice tease that we might be able to wear our bad Christmas sweaters on the 25th, chances are you’ll be a whole lot more comfortable in a T-shirt and shorts. Highs again will reach the low-80s, meaning our sweaters can go back into the closets for at least a few more days. Do you like the return to September weather? More ... (TBO.com)
