Apr 4, 2021James Howland Sr. | Obituary - Rockwall County Herald Banner
On July 28, 1990, he lost his beloved wife after almost 37 years of marriage. Affectionately known as Paw Paw, James' greatest joy was spending time with his large extended family. He enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and football, mowing, driving his golf cart and, in his later years, even a little reality TV. He loved chicken-fried-chicken and sweets, particularly strawberry yogurt, pronounced with his endearing East Texas drawl. James was a simple man, strong in his Christian faith, and was known to pepper a Thanksgiving prayer with as many "Lords" as possible. James was preceded in death by his parents, wife Francis Howland, son Baby Howland, son-in-law Richard Palczynsky, grandson Steven Palczynsky, great-granddaughter Avery Palczynsky, sister Lucy Vanhoose, and brother Wayne Howland. He is survived by daughter Connie Miller and husband Thomas, daughter Jalana Palczynsky, and son Jamie Howland and wife Lisa, all of Caddo Mills, Texas. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Oasis Church, 3387 W I-30 Frontage Road, Caddo Mills, Texas, 75135. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity or church.

A lot of the roses now don't really have a smell."Volunteers will be on hand to carry plants and trees to customers' vehicles, according Hobson, who also points out the event will feature "hands-on activities" for children."We're excited to have the ecoEXPLORE program from the (N.C.) Feb 3, 2016Police offer look at dash cam following chase that led to woman's death
In the left-hand corner of the shot is Crystal Norton's car. She is the mother from Paw Paw who was struck.
Police say Mills tried to cut through the Mega Bev parking lot, when he hit Crystal Norton's car.
She died as a result of the impact.
We also spoke with an eyewitness who was in front of Mills' car that night, when he realized he was in the middle of a high-speed chase.
"I was coming down Oakland here to a friend's house. The white car passed me in the bike passenger lane there, and I didn't quite get what he was doing there, but sure enough the police were right behind him," said eyewitness Ryan Flowers. "I would say they passed me going at least 45, 50. It's a tragic situation and I feel bad for the family."
Norton was 33-years-old and leaves behind a daughter.
Mills is due back in court on Thursday.
If convicted, he faces up to 15 years behind bars.
