Hocking Forest with Rev. David Hammel, a retired Lutheran minister at Baltic St. John Lutheran Church. Hammel now resides in Circleville.
Louis has never flown in an airplane and isn’t too interested in technology.
“We didn’t have a television and the boys would go to their Regula grandparents to watch programs," said Louis. "So, we decided to get them a television.
“The only time we watched television all day was when the planes hit the towers in New York City. It was a sad day,” Louis said. "We often watched baseball games. The games got long sometimes.”
Louis said he still enjoys watching basketball and baseball on television, along with game shows "Jeopardy" and "Wheel of Fortune."
Louis is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Baltic.
He and Gertie are parents of three sons, Tom of Fairborn, Ohio; Bruce and his wife Kathy of West Chester, Ill., and Jerrel "Jerry" and his wife Kathryn of Smithville. There are also four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
